Grants Manager – Kenya

VMM are currently recruiting for a Grants Manager to assist one of our key partners with their work with communities in Kenya for 1 year. The successful applicant will be based in Kenya and provided with flights, insurance, accommodation and a generous living allowance. Please be aware this is a volunteer role, with incredible opportunities to travel and use your skills and experience to serve the people of Kenya.

Background of FOT

Friends of Turkana is a non-profit engaged in supporting charitable endeavours in Turkana, an arid region in North-western Kenya, about the size of Ireland, with a population of about 900,000.  We typically support sustainable agricultural projects.  We do not have staff in Turkana, and therefore ENGAGE with local partners, including the Diocese of Lodwar.

Background of Project

A generous FOT donor has offered to fund the hiring of a Grants Manager who would be exclusively responsible to research and write applications to foundations etc, seeking support for the various Diocesan efforts undertaken to provide for the desperately poor population of Turkana.  The consultant would support the efforts of the Diocesan Development Office, but would not assist such Office in performing its normal duties.  Rather, the sponsor hopes that, by adding a new function to such Office, that of a qualified individual who would be responsible solely to create and manage a new outreach program, the Diocese would be able to access sources of funding which may be currently beyond its reach due to a lack of resources.
